Hintotex Brands was established in 2012 by my father and me. My father has been involved in snack manufacturing for over 30 years but retired and sold his snack food processing plants around the country in 2009. In early 2012 I was restless at Deloittes after completing my articles, and asked my father for assistance in setting up a facility in KwaZulu-Natal Pietermaritzburg.
In the beginning, there were just 15 staff members including my father and myself, and now the business employs in excess of 440 people.
The business has grown from fairly humble beginnings, into a leader in the snack food business in KwaZulu-Natal.
